There was a song I heard some years ago called " Two glasses of buttermilk."

You may be able to find it on line, to get the whole story, but here is what I can remember...

It happened;  Down South one hot summer day back fifty some odd years ago...  Way out in the country,  a car coming down the dry dusty road, stopped in front of the only farm house for miles...  A man got out and ask the folks rocking out on the front porch if they could spare anything cool to drink?

Well the Lady of the house said sure come on up and sit a spell,  but all I have is some fresh, cool buttermilk, you are welcome to some...   The man sat on the porch swing and drank two glasses of buttermilk,  then thanked the lady and went on his way...

Years passed and not a thought about that simple jester of refreshment ever crossed the  woman's mind...  Yet some time later the woman became gravely ill and was sent to the hospital for an emergency operation, for which she had little money to pay...

Upon  being released to return home; and  she received the bill of the operation...
There written across the statement was the words:

" Paid in Full - w. Two Glasses of Buttermilk "

So the story goes, folks you see that your simple jester of kindness and help may well pay great rewards beyond anything you may ever expect...   Does it not pay to be a good host and offer all whom,  you come in contact with;  the best hospitality??

I believe it was answered with two glasses of buttermilk...  It is not the object;  rather it is the action or the thought!!

"Remember kindness and help will pay more dividends than any other action in this life..."                   a True-ism Jan. 2008

Try it you may be pleasantly surprised, dear friend!!
